As I’m sure most are aware, Midwest Drift Union and I parted ways late last year. They decided to go in a different direction while I left quietly. I was later picked up by a new outfit with a newer spin on drifting. With my focus no longer stretched thin on things like sponsor relations, podium prizes and behind the scenes operations, I’m now able to focus on telling the fans who’s on track, what the judges have decided and other general announcer duties. The first event went really well with this new team, especially considering the venue had never hosted a motorsport quite like this. The Turismo Drift staff did a fantastic job and the driver feedback was all thumbs up. At the end of the day, the top three drivers took home some very nice checks with the payouts continuing all the way through the top 16.
